Director Bio

Edwin Alexis Gómez is a Queer Nicaraguan-American writer, director, producer, and actor. His parents emigrated from Nicaragua and settled in Los Angeles, where he was born and raised. Gómez’s work blends exquisite pain with the resounding beauty of love and life while interrogating what we inherit from our personal histories and ancestors. His short film Quédate Callado (Stay Silent) won a Grand Jury Award at the 2018 Outfest Fusion Film Festival. Gómez is currently in pre-production for his third short film Joyride, which received funding from Latino Public Broadcasting, and is also working on his digital series Frenemigas.
